Melatonin for Jet Lag

Jet Lag Remedy
Even the most seasoned travelers can succumb to jet lag.  Crossing multiple time zones can set the body's biological clock in a state of chaos, and this can lead to fatigue, irritability, and memory loss.  For many people dealing with jet lag isn't a possibility, because they are traveling for work or at a destination for a short amount of time.  For these cases a melatonin supplement may help to avoid jet lag

Melatonin is a hormone that is naturally found within the body.  It is secreted by the pineal gland, and it is used to signal the body to sleep.  Melatonin is interesting, because it is released when the natural light begins to dissipate.  Since it is affected by light it can be a great way to help the body to fall asleep at the proper time.

It is generally believed that eastward travel is much harder on the body, and it induces a jet lag that is hard to deal with.  Some studies have shown that melatonin can be a great way to help with both westward and eastward travel.  One study conducted at the UK Cochrane Centre in London found melatonin to be a great way to help with jet lag, and they suggest it to travelers crossing five or more time zones.  In nine out of ten trials taking melatonin around bed time after arriving at the destination helped to promote proper sleep.  Melatonin at .5 mg and 5 mg were both helpful, but 5 mg helped to induce sleep quicker.  It was also found that consuming melatonin at levels higher than 5 mg weren't any more helpful.

Jet Lag Tips
If you're looking to use melatonin to help fight jet lag these two jet lag tips may be helpful.  A melatonin supplement should be taken at dark on the day that you are traveling, and then after dark a couple days after arriving at the new time zone.  Also before traveling to the east, you should try taking melatonin in the evening a few days before travel.

Jet lag will ruin anybodies trip or work schedule, but melatonin can offer great natural sleep help.  It helps the body to avoid jet lag by supporting the body's biological clock and signaling sleep when it becomes dark.  If you find yourself frequently struggling with jet lag, try a melatonin supplement.  It could be just what you need to stave off the irritability, poor memory, and fatigue that accompany poor sleep patterns.

Relax Already Review

I found a great way to help with the anxiety and stress that comes from travelling for long periods of time. Best of all, it comes in the form of an over the counter muscle relaxer.  Relax Already can help support the body during tension and anxiety with its natural ingredients designed to reduce muscle spasm, stress and anxiety. In other words it can be used as a natural anxiety remedy.

Anxiety can strike at any time.  Whether you're in the car, at work, in front of a group of people, or just sitting at home out of nowhere your mouth can become dry, your palms sweaty, and your heart starts to race.  These anxious feelings can quickly ruin your day, and more disturbing is that the fear of a panic attack can keep you house bound.

Anxiety disorders are the most common form of mental illness in America, and nearly 40 million people, or 18% of the population, struggle with anxiety.  Anxiety can develop from many different sources, including brain chemistry, personality, genetics, and life experience.  Anxiety is very treatable, but only one third of the people who suffer with anxiety actually get help.  Unfortunately, for the people who actually do get treated for anxiety, the medications they receive only offer temporary relief and they're laden with numerous side effects.

Anxiety medications can make the consumer feel groggy, sleepy, uncoordinated, and it can hinder their effectiveness at school or work.  Some medications called benzodiazepines aren't quickly broken down, so they can build up within the body.  This causes the consumer to become over sedated, and this can cause the person to appear intoxicated.  Frankly, they can be quite harmful.

Relax Already is an incredible over the counter muscle relaxer.  It can help to treat muscle pains of all kinds, but one of its best applications can be to help with anxiety.  Relax Already is a natural muscle relaxer, so it is safe to take.  The best part about Relax Already is that it doesn't come with the negative side effects that accompany prescription anxiety medicine.

Relax Already contains passion flower and Valerian root.  These natural herbs have been used for centuries to help calm the mind, and to this day they can be a great ally for the anxiety stricken.  These herbs work with the brain's GABA.  GABA, or Gamma-amino butyric acid, is an amino acid that acts as a neurotransmitter, and it helps to calm brain activity.  It prevents the brain from becoming over stimulated, and this allows the brain to remain in a calm state.  Relax Already helps to reduce the occurrence of anxiety and 'busy brain' without making the body tired or putting the brain in a cloud.

If you're among the millions of people who deal with anxiety and don't take medication - or if you are medicated and don't like the side effects - you should try Relax Already and see if it can help you relieve your tension, stress and anxeity.  Relax Already can help to calm the brain, and it won't deter you from living a productive daily life.

Please note- If you are not getting relief or your symptoms are severe, you should always see your doctor. None of this information should be taken as medical advise, it's for information purposes only. You and your doctor should evaluate what is best for you.

Stop Jet Lag and Boost Your Immune System with Travelers Defense

Traveling can be very tiring. What more if you experience jet lag? Jet lag is a common condition among travelers and it happens when your body is no longer in sync with the new environment. Fast travel across different time zones, as on a jet aircraft, causes your bodily rhythms to be disrupted.  This may interfere with your sleep patterns and may cause you to experience insomnia. You may also suffer from headaches, fatigue, confusion, and loss of appetite. In other words, jet lag can potentially ruin your trip or vacation. Fortunately, fighting off jet lag is now possible with the help of a natural jet lag remedy.

TravelSmart Formula

Altitude Sickness

Aside from jet lag, some travelers suffer from the discomfort of altitude sickness (also known as acute mountain sickness, hypobaropathy, or soroche) too. This is the effect of low air pressure on humans and commonly occurs when flying above 8,000 feet. There are no specific symptoms but some signs to watch out for are flu-like symptoms or hangover-like symptoms. Kick back and relax because altitude sickness can now be avoided just by taking in Travelers Defense. Travelers Defense is not just a natural jet lag remedy. It is also the only travel supplement that is able to relieve high altitude sickness. An ingredient found in Travelers Defense is found to be effective in counteracting the effects of high altitude on humans so you can now fly without worrying about nausea and all other symptoms associated to this altitude illness.

It is a given fact that travelers are more susceptible to different types of diseases, especially those that are brought about by airborne pathogens. Good thing that Travelers Defense is not only great at reducing jet lag, but its Vitamin C and Zinc content is also effective in boosting your immune system to fight off these harmful diseases. Studies have proven that both Vitamin C and Zinc are needed for a healthy immune system.

So why take Travelers Defense?

Travelers Defense is the only natural travel supplement which stops jet lags, relieves altitude sickness, and protects you from harmful diseases all at the same time. Avoiding jet lags and preventing sickness means more money saved on prescription drugs. Not only are you pampered but you get to save lots of money too!  So stop worrying now because Travelers Defense will take care of you.

Three Reasons Why Traveler's Defense is the Best Natural Jet Lag Remedy

I have just discovered the best way to combat jet lag, Travelers Defense. I first discovered this natural jet lag remedy when I saw an article about it online. I ordered it on the web and guess what? It’s the best natural jet lag remedy by far.

Here are five reasons why:
The Right Mix

Travelers Defense is a cocktail of herbal natural jet lag remedies. They call it the TravelSmart blend. Here are the ingredients you will find in this jet lag remedy:

  • Pau d'arco
  • Gingko Biloba
  • Lavender
  • Cat's Claw
  • Vitamin C
  • Chamomile
  • Melatonin
  • Zinc
  • Echinacea
  • 5-HTP
  • Valerian
  • Garlic
  • Licorice
All these ingredients are in the right doses so you will not experience any jet lag symptoms. Because their properties are relaxing, they also prevent you from experiencing traveler’s insomnia.

Natural Protection From Airborne Diseases

If you travel like I do, you will know that more and more people are traveling by air than twenty years before. Think about this. You are cooped up with other people in a small space. Some of them may cough and sneeze. Some may even forget to cover their noses and mouth.
The chances of getting airborne diseases is more likely in an airplane and Traveler's Defense protects you from those diseases because its ingredients are not only natural jet lag remedies, but natural immune boosters as well. I’ve personally haven’t been sick ever since I started taking Travelers Defense.

High Altitude Sickness Remedy

I traveled with a friend who rarely flies and she had the worst case of high altitude sickness. Her eyes would glaze over. She’d try to sleep in the plane, but she’s too anxious to sleep. She was miserable. I gave her some Traveler’s Defense before a flight and we were surprised when the flight was better for her this time around. She was just taking it as a jet lag remedy, but gotten an additional perk instead.

These three reasons are why I think Traveler’s Defense is one of the best natural jet lag remedies out there. I never leave without it now. I’d rather much forget to pack my toothbrush than my Travelers Defense.

What is Jet Lag?

Jet lag results from the body’s adjustment as a result of travel across time zones. This is also called desynchronosis. I’ve made a list of the common jet lag symptoms below:
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Constipation
  • Anxiety
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Confusion
  • Irritability
  • Sweating
  • Coordination problems
  • Memory Loss
  • Dehydration
  • Heartbeat Irregularities
  • Weak immune system
Time Zones and Our Bodies

How exactly do we get all or some of these jet lag symptoms just by traveling?  The clue is in understanding time zones. A time zone is an area in the world that operates in the same time as anywhere within that area. Imagine that the world is an orange split in sections from top to bottom. Each slice has the same time zone. Because the earth rotates, one time zone experiences dawn at a set time. The time zone next to it experiences dawn one hour after the previous time zone and so on.

So why does your body react so hard to a change in time zone? Shouldn’t just thinking about the time itself help you adjust? I wish the solution to jet lag symptoms is just as simple as sheer will power. However, it’s more complicated than that.

Our Built-in Body Alarm Clock

You see, we have an internal body alarm clock and that is a part of our brain that is called the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus controls when we experience hunger, thirst, or when we feel sleepy. It also controls our blood pressure, body temperature, and the amount of glucose and hormones that should be released in our blood stream. The hypothalamus gets its clues about the time of day from our optic nerves and the amount of light it gathers. Simply put, when the eyes perceive light, the hypothalamus gets to work and schedules our bodily functions. When we travel, the optic nerve communicates earlier or later times to the hypothalamus and our own body rhythms are thrown off-track.

When we travel across time zones, our hypothalamus gets confused by the messages brought in by the optic nerve. As it tries to adjust to the new schedule, that’s when we experience the symptoms of jet lag. For relief of jet lag symptoms, you can take a natural melatonin supplement because melatonin when taken an hour or two before bedtime serves to regulate our natural biological rhythms. Another great product to try is Travelers Defense.

My All-Time Favorite Natural Jet Lag Remedies

If your job takes you across different time zones and suffer jet lag all the time like my job does, you might be wondering about natural jet lag remedies. If you’re like me, I’m very particular about what I allow to enter my body. That’s why, when I got my dream job that allows me to travel four times a month, I had to do some research about jet lag and the natural jet lag remedies. Otherwise, I’d be wandering around disoriented or sleep-deprived which is bad for my job. Since I’m in sales, I must always be in tip-top shape during meetings or I won’t have a job.

This is what this Natural Jet Lag Remedy blog is about. It’s sort of my little place where I can write what I find out about jet lag and the natural remedies for it. It’s quite handy because I can refer to it wherever I am.

Just in case you’re wondering, I did find two products that I am using right now as natural jet lag remedies. Believe me, they work! One is Sprayology TravelEase and the other is the Da Vinci Melatonin tablets. I’m going to let you know now that I’m going to talk about these two products and some others I am looking into a lot because they’re the best ones I found in the market and they’re all-natural.
